JOHN BUSH
I started working on houses at the tender age of seven, when my parents bought a condemned 1850s 3-story brick house in Yellow Springs. The house had no plumbing, minimal electric work and severe structural and cosmetic damage.
Although I was a lowly "go-fer" for my father and older brothers, this early experience instilled in me than passion for renovating, restoring and creating things of beauty. After college I went to work in Colorado, restoring furniture and building cabinets.
In 1974, my parents returned to Yellow Springs and, along with my brothers and me, started Bushworks. I continued repairing and refinishing furniture, and cabinet making. Over the years, it blossomed into building and designing additions that truly match the existing house, which is primarily what I do now, along with the duties of running a small local business.

STEVE CHENEY
I came to Bushworks in the fall of 1978. I started out stripping and repairing furniture and doing finishing. Over the years I’ve done a large variety of jobs, but for the past 25 years or so I've settled into woodworking and antique furniture repair. Everything from Steinway pianos to Great Aunt Millie's favorite footstool—it's been my good fortune to work with skilled, honest and good-humored. people for over 30 years & I look forward to many more of the same.
ALAN GREENBERG
I came to Bushworks in 1986 to help with the cabinetry on a large custom kitchen. At the time, I was working at my own one-man shop, designing and making custom furniture. Previous to that, I was an elementary school teacher.
I'm still here, and still loving woodworking. The variety of work, the process of helping our customers define their projects, and working as a crew to accomplish those goals are still very satisfying.

SHANE SINDLE
I started working at Bushworks in 1994 at the age of 19. I began working in and later managing the metal/welding shop. As the business moved more toward woodworking and construction, so did I. There was a particular need for someone skilled at matching stain colors and spraying finishes on our new custom work as well as repaired antiques. Over the years, I have learned and continue to learn a good deal about finishing and the different skills involve din working on construction projects away from the shop.

LACEY has been the shop dog for the last three years.
